These MonstersOver the past four years the both Vessels and These Monsters have played an integral role in the Leeds experimental rock scene, working closely with bands such as Grammatics, Pulled Apart By Horses, Humanfly, Glissando, That Fucking Tank, Chickenhawk, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Bilge Pump, Quack Quack and Castrovalva.

In July both bands will set out on a joint headline UK tour, with Vessels fresh from recording their follow up to 2008's critically acclaimed album White Fields and Open Devices, in Texas with John Congleton again at the helm who has worked with Explosions in the Sky, Black Mountain, Clinic and Shearwater, while These Monsters continue to push their debut album Call Me Dragon (Reviewed Here)

White Fields and Open Devices, showcases Vessel's eclectic nature of a band who draw influence from rock, electronica, techno, metal and ambient music. Their explosive live show has attracted many fans and resulted in appearances at Latitude, Bestival and Leeds festivals, amongst others, and support slots with Efterklang, Caribou, Brett Anderson and The Wedding Present's Dave Gedge with the BBC Big Band. 2010 has already seen the band successfully tour with Oceansize, previewing songs from their forthcoming second album.

Call Me Dragon demonstrates the freaked out, riff driven prog-force that These Monsters have become. With their love of large vintage amplifiers, big drums and high energy, passionate performances, These Monsters deliver a huge live sound and are developing a reputation as one of the loudest and most exciting underground bands in the UK. So much so they have been invited to tour the UK in June with American prog legends Coheed and Cambria.
