UK radio listeners down
Chris Moyles also hits a five year low
The Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR) summer stats were published yesterday, the latest batch of radio listening figures.
Overall UK radio listening was down very slightly - 89% of the population turned into a radio station on a weekly basis, down from 90% the previous quarter. Overall digital listening was up - digital services now accounting for 31.5% of listening, up from 29.2% the previous quarter and 26.9% a year earlier.
Interestingly the likes of Chris Moyles (who hit a five year low) and Chris Evans (despite still being the most popular DJ by a long way) are both seeing dips in audience figures while digital stations like Planet Rock (which gained a 10% increase) and Absolute Radio (9.4%) have seen growth.
